The International Baccalaureate® (IB) offers a continuum of international education. The programmes encourage both personal and academic achievement, challenging students to excel in their studies and in their personal development.

「IBの学習者像」は、「IBの使命」を具体化したもので、「国際的な視野をもつとはどういうことか」という問いに対するIBの答えの中核を担っています。具体的には、IB認定校が価値を置く人間性を、以下10の人物像として表しています。

The aim of all IB programmes is to develop internationally minded people who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world. The IB learner profile represents 10 attributes valued by IB World Schools. We believe these attributes, and others like them, can help individuals and groups become responsible members of local, national and global communities.

子どもたちを取り巻く教育環境・社会環境は劇的に変化しています。それに伴い、子どもたちに求められる学力や人間力も大きく変わってきました。教えてもらったことをたくさん正確に記憶できることで偏差値が評価された時代は終わりを迎えようとしています。これからの子どもたちには、自分で考え自分で行動できること、その上で他者と協力して助け合いながら協働できることが重要とされています。 このため、一人一人の子どもたちの多様性を尊重しつつ、それぞれの強みを発揮させる個に応じた教育を行うとともに、異なる背景や多様な能力を持つ子どもたちが協働して新たな価値を生み出す教育を行うことが重要です。

The educational and social environments surrounding children are changing dramatically. The academic and human skills required of children have also changed dramatically in line with these changes. The era in which deviation scores were evaluated based on the ability to accurately remember what was taught is coming to an end. Children of the future need to be able to think and act on their own, and to be able to cooperate with and help others. For this reason, it is important to respect the diversity of each child and provide an individualized education that allows each child to demonstrate his or her strengths, as well as an education that allows children with different backgrounds and diverse abilities to work together to create new value.

世の中には、STEAM教育、プログラミング教育など、新しい教育があふれるようになりました。朝日塾幼稚園でも、それらを取り入れ、さまざまな楽しい経験ができるようにしてきました。同時に、子どもたちがこれから、ますます複雑化する未来を生き抜くにあたり、主体的に自分で考え行動できる子どもに育てるには何が必要だろうと考え続けてきました。 世の中に次々と現れる目新しい教育や、海外のユニークな教育など、参考にすべきものはたくさんありますが、すべてを取り入れることは不可能ですし、園の教育方針や保護者のニーズにそぐったものばかりではありません。 「教えてもらう」ことから「自ら学ぶ」ことにシフトし、探究的な学習を提供するには何が最適なのか、何年も考え続けた末に国際バカロレア教育（IB）に行きつきました。 世界標準の国際バカロレア機構に認められたIB教育こそ、自信をもって世界スタンダードの人間力・生きる力を持った子どもに育てることができると考えました。 子どもたちがIBの探究的な学習で遊びや学びを進めることで、将来の選択肢を自由に選べ、自分も周りも幸せにできる人に育ってほしいと思っています。

The world is now full of new types of education, such as STEAM education and programming education.
At Asahijuku Kindergarten, we have also been incorporating these new educational methods to provide a variety of enjoyable experiences.
At the same time, we have continued to think about what is needed to raise children who can think and act independently as they live through an increasingly complex future.
Many new and unique educational programmes have emerged in the world and abroad that we should refer to, but it is impossible to incorporate all of them, and not all of them fit the educational policy of our preschool and the needs of the guardians.
After years of thinking about the best way to shift from "being taught" to "learning by oneself" and to provide inquiry-based learning, we came up with the International Baccalaureate (IB).
We felt that an IB education, recognized by the world-standard International Baccalaureate Organization, would enable us to confidently raise children with world-standard human and life skills.
We hope that by advancing children's play and learning through the IB's inquiry-based learning, they will be able to freely choose their future options and grow up to be people who can make themselves and those around them happy.

PYP (Primary Years Programme)は3歳~12歳までを対象としており、精神と身体の両方を発達させることを重視しているプログラムである。 (言語は問わず)PYPのカリキュラムは、国際教育の文脈において不可欠とされる人間の共通性に基づいた以下の6つの教科横断的なテーマ.6教科を学習することをカリキュラム認定の基準としている。

The PYP (Primary Years Programme) is an educational programme managed by the International Baccalaureate (IB) for students aged 3 to 12, PYP prepares students to become active, caring, lifelong learners who demonstrate respect for themselves and others and have the capacity to participate in the world around them. It focuses on the development of the whole child. The curriculum framework is uniquely adaptable to state and national standards, arranged within six "transdisciplinary themes" and the six subject areas. Guided by six transdisciplinary themes of global significance, students deepen their learning by developing their conceptual understandings; strengthening their knowledge and skills across and beyond subject areas.
